Dear Williams Upper Elementary Students and families:
Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year! The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10. Class begins at 8:10 am.   We will be having a Sneak a Peek on Tuesday, August 9 from 2:30-3:30.  Class lists will be posted Tuesday, August 9 prior to the Sneak a Peek.

This is going to be a fantastic year for the Junior Jackets!  I hope you all had an opportunity to get some rest and have some fun!  Now that we have had a whole year back in person, it is time to meet our potential and get to work.  Along with reading and math, there will be a strong focus on improving our writing skills.  It is very important to arrive at school on time and be here everyday!  We will continue to be intentional about building relationships, communicating regularly and clearly, and providing the best education possible for our students.

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce our new staff members.  Joining us in 4th grade is Skie Cano.  Joining us in 5th grade are: Brooke Goodwin, Lizbeth Hernandez and Silvia Vaca.  We look forward to seeing these new faces on campus.  Please join me in making these wonderful teachers feel welcome!

Our school and grounds are looking beautiful, thanks to our wonderful custodial and maintenance crew! Our playground has been resurfaced and will soon have new striping.  We now have all of our 6th grade classes in a pod and all of our 5th grade classes in a pod.

We love parent involvement!  Please consider joining PTO or running for School Site Council or ELAC.  Your participation in these organizations is critical to our success as a school community!

Please be aware that we do not have supervision for students after school.  If your child does not attend ASES, they may not wait on campus after school for older siblings who attend the Junior/Senior High School.  They must either go directly home via the bus, walking or by home transportation.

I am honored and privileged to lead such an amazing group of teachers, staff and students and I look forward to this year as we grow and learn together!  All the best!

Sincerely,

Veronica Michael
